Sean Hannity had Clavicular on his new podcast
If you are interested in hearing Fox News host Sean Hannity describe how he would use his mixed martial arts training to overpower a gunman and save his own life to a 20-year-old meth-addled “looksmaxxer” then keep reading because this is the blog for you.
Hannity sat down with Braden Peters, better known as Clavicular, on his podcast Hang Out with Sean Hannity. The show, launched earlier this year, is part of a new effort by Fox to further expand into digital media. The press announcement said it is filmed from Hannity’s “man cave” at his home in Florida. The set looks like a wood-paneled hunter’s retreat/dive bar, complete with a hanging traffic light, a Washington Capitals jersey with Hannity’s name on the back, a rack of decorative katanas, and a sparsely stocked bar cart with several bottles of whiskey, a cocktail shaker, and a placard that says “FREEDOM” on it.
For those blessed enough not to know what “looksmaxxing” is – it’s an online trend where young men share tips and tricks to “max out” their attractiveness. The methods recommended by looksmaxxing gurus like Clavicular range from putting lifts in your shoes to appear taller to taking human growth hormones during puberty or hammering your jaw to create micro-fractures that supposedly improve the appearance of your face.
Clavicular said that he knew who Hannity was because growing up, his parents had Fox News on all the time. Hannity, at 64, is old enough to be Clavicular’s father. He consistently fawned over his guest during the course of their hour-long conversation. He starts out by praising his looks.
“You’re a very handsome young man,” he said. “It’s obvious,” showing a picture of Clav at 14-years-old and praising him for transforming his appearance since then. Hannity congratulated Clavicular for his social media and financial success, praised his interview skills and supposed knowledge of wellness best practices.
“You study all this stuff a lot,” Hannity expressed admiration for Clavicular’s discernment about what he consumes. As a reminder, Clav has said he’s used methamphetamine as an appetite suppressant.
“I’m learning from you today,” he said. “That’s interesting to me.” He also repeatedly asked Clav about whether his relationship with his girlfriend was serious.
“ Does she get jealous, knowing that a lot of women would be interested in you?”
I made a super cut of these moments.
Hannity did quite a bit of preening, attempting to prove his bona fides as a boomer looksmaxxer.
“I do mixed martial arts,” he said, “situational self-defense training.” He said he does 100 push-ups a day and 150 sit-ups. “We actually have something called ‘pain day’ and my martial arts sensei is probably the strongest guy I know.” In case you’re wondering, this is Glenn, Hannity’s sensei.
“And he makes me just stand there and he will hit my stomach – he’ll usually drop me by the fourth or fifth shot.”
His training, he claims, has a practical purpose. At one point, Hannity described to Clavicular how he would overpower a gunman if a firearm was held to his head.
“Close quarters, I’d rather deal with a firearm than I would a knife,” he said. “If someone puts a gun to my head I’ll strip it, break their finger, you know, step back, and I’m gonna tap it, rack it, and I’m going to rack it like this,” gesturing how he would cock and aim the gun he’s just stolen from the hands of the other man.
“Or they put it at my forehead, ‘Oh no, OK, you’ve got me, you’ve got me,” feigning surrender, “boom! I’m going to go like this,” making an upward punching motion, “rip their hand down, their arm down and throw it into their chest, strip it, tap it, rack it – you’re laughing.”
“This is what I do — I train.”
Toward the end of the interview, Hannity praised Clavicular for his ambition.
“It kind of reminds me a little bit of myself in this sense.”

I ... my God. This has everything.
It has Hannity drooling over homely old Braden Clavicles like he's Ferran Torres.
It has Hannity getting completely lost in his by-himself MMA fantasies of all the things he would do if somebody ever looked at him funny.
It's just everything.
I love the title. And all I can say is, really? Wow
